Smart Remote

App Installation

Outsmart® app allows user to have all controls in one single app.

  • Download Outsmart App:
    • Visit the Google Play Store (for Android devices) or Apple App Store (for iOS devices)
    • Search for “Outsmart” and click the “Download” or “Get” button

  • Register Your Account:
    • Open the Outsmart app and follow the registration prompts
    • Create a new account with us to get started

  • Grant Necessary Permissions:
    • To ensure seamless connectivity, please grant the Outsmart app access to:
      • Notifications
      • Location
      • Wi-Fi
      • Bluetooth
  • Important Wi-Fi Configuration Note:
    Most smart home products, including this device, are compatible with Wi-Fi 2.4GHz networks only.
  • If you have a combined router:
    Please contact your telecom provider for assistance on how to disable Wi-Fi 5GHz to ensure proper connectivity.
  • Pre-Connection Checklist:
    Before adding your device, please ensure:
    ✓ Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile phone
    ✓ Wi-Fi is enabled on your mobile phone
    ✓ Your mobile phone is connected to your home Wi-Fi network (2.4GHz)
     

Product Introduction & Set Up

  • Connect the device to a USB port using the provided cable. Do not remove the cable as the device is not rechargeable.

  • The indicator light will only flash when the device is triggered, and will not remain lit permanently.
To reset the device or enter pairing mode, hold the reset button for 10 seconds.

Connect Device

  • Tap the (+) button located at the top right corner of the screen
    • Select Add Device
    • Ensure both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are turned on on your mobile device

  • Auto-discovery
    • The app will automatically detect and display the device that is found

    • If auto-discovery fails, try resetting your device and ensure bluetooth is turned on

  • Ensure mobile phone is connected to your home 2.4ghz wifi only
  • Enter the correct password
  • Tap next and add 
  • Unsuccessful connection are usually because home wifi is not set to 2.4ghz

Connect to IR Appliances

  • Tap open the smart universal remote that was added successfully earlier
  • It should be an empty list on screen.
  • Tap + Add
  • Select “Air” to set up Aircon
  • Select Fan to set up wall fan with infrared remote
  • Select TV to set up television
  • Select DIY (bottom of the page) to set up any other infrared remote appliances that is not in the list
  • Look forappliance brand(**if brand is not found, try to DIY**)
  • From now on,follow app instruction closely
  • ensure smart universal remote is in direct line of the appliance without blockage
  • swipe left to rename appliance
  • continue adding other appliance that remote is direct in-line of 

Create a Scene

Scene allow user to add all the devices they would like to control in just one tap.

FAQ

I can’t connect the product, it gets timed out.

Ensure phone is connected to 2.4ghz wifi only, ensure wifi password is accurate and product position is not too far from router

Product indicator light is not blinking.

Long press the reset button for 10s

What devices can be controlled with IR remote?

Infrared Controller (IR):

• Applicable for non smart aircon, television, speaker & wall fan. (refer above for brands)

• Unable to penetrate wall and has to be in sight of the appliance(s) in order to control it

What devices can be controlled with RF remote?

Radio Frequency Controller (RF)

•Applicable to 314MHz- 316MHz and 433MHz- 435MHz) Ceiling Fan With Light (brands like KDK, Deka), Curtain, Shutter.

• Rolling frequencies are not supported. Please check with your vendor for the exact RF frequency.

• Google Home do not recognise/support RF appliances, thus it will not appear in Google Home App, however, we have step by step to configure Google voice control for RF appliances, chat with us!

• Fanco Ceiling fan – 433.92MHz ( Model Bstar, Dono is verified to use within 433mhz, please check with supplier, if you are using other model)

• Bestar ceiling fan – 433.34MHz ( Some model 433.32 ~433.37MHz)

• Aeroair ceiling fan – 433MHz OR 433.92

• Crestar ceiling fan – Not supported since not within RF range

• Prisim+ ceiling fan – Not supported since using Bluetooth

• Mitral ceiling Fan – Most model using IR.

Universal remote doesnt react when I press

Ensure remote is placed direct in sight of appliances without blockage

Can I use on all my home appliances?

It is recommended to have one remote in one room to have full home automation

What is the infrared range?

within 8 to 10m

How to use voice control

User need to bind Outsmart app together with Google Home/Alexa first in order to allow smart voice assistance to locate the devices.
